Cllr. Ed Bridges wants the council to improve the pavement on North Road, Gabalfa

The Gabalfa Focus Team is stepping up the campaign for pavement repairs and improvements for North Road.

There has been a spate of recent accidents and falls near the shopping area by the Gabalfa Interchange, with elderly residents from Meridian Court being particularly badly affected. Cracks in the pavement and wonky paving stones have made the area tricky to negotiate, especially in the dark.

Local councillor and Assembly candidate, Ed Bridges, told us: "The state of the pavements leaves a lot to be desired, and the recent falls have shown just how much the area needs investment. I want the council to replace the pavement with tarmac rather than just keep patching-up what is clearly an unacceptable surface."

Ed has started a petition, calling for the work to be carried out and also requesting the council to improve the area by the shops to make it a more attractive shopping precinct. If you'd like to sign the petition, just contact Cllr. Ed Bridges.
