The Gabalfa Focus Team was delighted to hear that a local bus route is being redirected so it will serve our area better.

Cardiff's Lib Dem council is re-directing the X45 bus route, which previously ran on North Road. The new route will enable residents living on Allensbank Road and the surrounding streets to catch an hourly bus to the city centre, Llandough Hospital and even Cardiff International Airport.

Welsh Assembly candidate and local councillor, Ed Bridges, said: "This is clearly good news for our area. Residents around Allensbank Road will have a much better choice of services into town, but also much better connections to destinations further afield, like Cardiff Airport."

Cllr. Cathy Pearcy added: "A Welsh Liberal Democrat government would give councils the power to plan and develop bus routes like this, as well as setting fare levels and improving the design of vehicles to ensure accessibility. Only by taking that sort of action can we get people out of their cars and onto public transport."
